Blue table  lamps  bring nature right into your home and make you feel cozy and relaxed. Blue is the color of the sky as well as water, and the shades bring a different dimension to home decor. Basically, blue has a cooling effect like no other color and it brings on the feel of being under an open blue sky or standing close to a clear blue ocean water.

Blue table lamp  can be made of any material that is suitable. It could be glass or fabric, but the effect of coolness will not be lost at all. Many home owners are using blue table lamps with shades made of fabric since they are not breakable and can last longer. With kids playing around, glass shades can get damaged frequently.

Blue fabric used in lamp shades can automatically make you more cheerful as the surroundings and the atmosphere are more relaxed. There are several retailers selling blue table lamps on the internet as well as at brick and mortar based stores.

The fabric does make a difference. It can be any material ranging from silk to coarse cotton. It’s just a matter of choosing what you like best.

Blue table  lamps  have long been common features in clubs and restaurants. It’s only been recently that blue table lamps have  become a common appearance in homes. It is not only  blue  table lamps that are being sought after, but furnishing material as well. Most home owners nowadays spend more time at their work place and it is natural they would look for coziness in their homes.

You can check out online retailers for the shade of your choice. There are an almost limitless number different of shapes, designs and sizes that you can choose from. Blue shades can add warmth and happiness to the surroundings as well. People are finding it necessary to make their homes a haven of peace as they have very little time to relax on weekdays.

The sky, the water and the open space is what is required in the lives of many people. They are missing out on nature and are getting disconnected from its influence in their daily lives. By adding blue table lamps to their homes they are bringing just a little bit of the outdoors inside, and can enhance their satisfaction and bring in loads of artistic beauty.

Spending more time at home is becoming a rarity with punishing work schedules and natural decor has become the only alternative. If the coolness of nature can be brought in with  blue table lamps, why not get one (or several) and add them to your home. There are websites that allow you to choose the different styles and designs of blue shades.

We all ignore it but lighting is the most important factor in room décor. The perfect amount and type of lighting is all you need to give your room a warm or a cold feel. Lighting can not only give your room a certain feel, it can also make it look big or small. Needless to say good amount of lighting should be present in all kinds of rooms and if you don’t have enough fixed lights, you can easily add blue table  lamps  to get more light. Not only will they provide you with light but also add a whole lot of beauty in the room. Here are some types of blue  table lamps you can pick from at Amazon.

This tiffany style glass blue table lamp is perfect for those who like traditional and handcrafted items in their bedroom or lounge or even drawing room for that matter as its quite fancy and adds to the charm and beauty of the room while lighting it up! These blue table lamps are casual yet stylish in its own special way and has a bronze finished base along with a glass shade which is handcrafted.

However, don’t expect it to have all the qualities of a real antique blue table lamps , but then it doesn’t boast to have them either. It’s just a fancy handcrafted lamp in a reasonable price. This glass table lamp can hold two bulbs at a time and they can be lit together as well as one at a time, which is good in you want to save energy or need less light at times. Overall, it’s a nice lamp at a fair price.

Contemporary Glass Clear Table Lamp

This contemporary glass clear table lamp is one of the most beautiful and prettiest glass blue table lamps available online. It catches the attention on the first sight and makes a lasting impression! Not only does it look beautiful it gives out a good amount of light because of its clear glass, however, it holds only one bulb of 150 watts. The fact that it holds 150 watts bulb proves that it provides good enough light to light up a dark room.

A pair of two contemporary glass clear table lamps would suits a bedroom beside tables or a lounge setting! Its 30 inch high, so can be placed on a table if your sitting area includes chairs, however, in a room decorated with cushions and bean bags as the sitting option this lamp can be placed on the floor as well. This modern styled lamp will immediately hip up your room and give it that colorful look that it always craved for.

Up light Lamp with Crackle Glass Shade

With a price tag of just around 25 dollars, the Up light lamp with crackle glass shade at Amazon is one of the most reasonable lamps available. Also, I might add not only is this lamp reasonable but very unique and pretty as well. It has a very trendy crackled glass shade. What makes this lamp look unique is its cylindrical shape and the type of glass used.

Also, this lamp comes with a touch sensitive on/off button, which is extremely convenient; just tap it and voila! Only of these lamps might not be enough for lighting as it holds just one bulb of 60 watts energy but it sure is one of those lamps which would add to the charisma of your room.

A crystal table lamp can be the centerpiece of not only your table but the whole room as well. There are so many designs that you can choose from – a modern design, antique design, or even the retro look. While not terribly popular yet, some manufacturers also make battery powered table lamps to help save energy. I have done some extensive research at my favorite online retailer – Amazon.com – and picked out some of my favorite table lamps that I would like to show. As we all know, anytime we start talking about the best crystal table lamp, we have to start with Waterford Crystal. Nothing beats the quality, style, and sheer beauty of Waterford Crystal products. So let’s start by looking at this 26″ Waterford Crystal table lamp. This table lamp has a brass base in a step up design beginning with the largest step on the bottom. The carved feet really set off this lamp very well, and the glass stem gives the lamp a stylish yet open feel. The white fabric shade is 16″, and it has a 3-way rotating light switch so that you can set your desired lighting level. The maximum bulb you should use is a 100-watt bulb. There is just a slight bit of assembly required for this Waterford Crystal lamp that will take all of 5 minutes. This lamp is classically designed and the glass stem will really fit into any contemporary or modern setting. And while you might think a Waterford crystal lamp is very expensive, you can actually get this beautiful crystal lamp for at discount at about $425. If you would like to spend a little less on your crystal table lamp but still want to get a modern feel at a discount, take a look at this Crystal Body table lamp. This is a beautifully designed lamp with four glass globes ascending in size from top to bottom. It has a white shade that is made to give perfect lighting while not detracting from the contemporary stem. This lamp also uses the 3-way switch and a maximum 100-watt bulb. This lamp is not cheap, but you can get it at a pretty good discount of $164. This is $85 off of the list price. Not a bad price for one of the most gorgeous lamps I have ever seen. If you are looking for a vintage crystal table lamp with an antique look, we have what you need with this Vintage Table Lamp with crystals. This lamp has a crackled red stem that has a gold and slate finish. The remarkable hand painting really gives the antique looking lamp a vintage feel – like something you would see in your grandmother’s house decades ago. It has a fabric shade that disseminates the light evenly to give you perfect lighting. The 4 crystals require a Candelabra bulb in each, and it comes with an inline switch. I think this vintage light is perfect if you like the antique look rather than a modern feel. This lamp is one of the cheapest vintage crystal lamps at a discount of $172. Now this crystal table lamp with a contemporary crystal-like shade is very unique and modern. It certainly is the complete opposite of the antique lamps we just looked at above! This lamp is has a chandelier style lighting from the 3 glass “lamp shades”. It has a slim stem and a round base to give it plenty of support. It is made of acrylic and steel, and the manufacturer says it is easy to assemble. It uses normal 40-watt chandelier bulbs which you should be able to get at any hardware store. I am not sure exactly what kind of lighting this lamp provides, but it sure is one of the most unique, elegant, and contemporary table lamps available! I really wanted to find a cordless crystal table lamp that I could show you, but it turns out that there aren’t very many battery powered table lamps available. So we will look at this BettyLou Cordless LED Lamp instead. This lamp is made of almost 100% glass and it will work in any contemporary setting. Since it is battery powered, one question you always have to ask is how long will it stay lit? Well, the answer is that this cordless light will give excellent lighting for over 7 hours. It has a very efficient LED light which allows it to provide light for an extended period of time which makes this battery powered lamp perfect for special occasions or even everyday use.

Someone critiqued the opening of my story and said that it wasn’t a very good hook, and because of that they weren’t interested in reading further. So, what would I do to make my opening more of a hook? Thank you.
- – -
Someone was coming closer. There weren’t any footsteps to be heard, but the presence that radiated from the thick, grey haze ahead sent shivers up my spine.
“You can’t keep me away,“ a wraithlike voice whispered in my ear, making my hair stand on end. The beating of another heart pressed against my ribs, threatening to shatter them. Its trite melody desperately tried to break through and surpass the beating of my own heart, but I wouldn’t let it.
“Let me come in, or I’ll beak down the door,” the voice said, growing louder. I clutched my chest and cried out in pain, forcing away the dreadful parasite for only a moment, but it persisted. “Let me come in!” The voice repeated, becoming more impatient. The beating grew louder and more irritable, and I was unable to fight it any longer.
“I am far closer than you think!”
I began to forget the rhythm of my own heartbeat, and my breath slipped away. I reached out into the gray haze as a plea for help, for someone to rip this parasite out, but no one took my hand.
Something rooted deep inside my body was consuming me, but I couldn’t reach it. “No one can save you from yourself.”
Then, the pain stopped. The gray haze cleared, but the dreary ceiling I stared up at from my bed was about the same. Bursting black and grey spots dissipated as my eyes adjusted to the light and something formed in front of me. Illuminated by the dim table lamp on the dresser beside my bed was my left arm, frozen in its place outstretched toward the ceiling. I uncurled the clenched fingers of my right hand and rubbed the sore, throbbing area residing just over my heart. I couldn’t recall falling asleep, and I would have been convinced that it was a dream if it hadn’t happened before. The first and second time were nowhere near this painful. The sensation that someone was gradually approaching me was there, but this sense was suffocating. They were trying to break inside of me.
I didn’t know what triggered it, or where it came from, but I wouldn’t let it overcome me. It was nothing more than a bad dream. I don’t need any treatment, I would defeat the nasty parasitic thing all on my own.
Besides, even if it happened a hundred times, no one could convince me to get anywhere near the sanatorium. There were certified physicians in the sanatorium that could help me, but in my mind’s eye their philosophy was, “If you’re ill enough to come in search of treatment, you‘re ill enough to become a human experiment.” And they would proceed to prod me with needles and other tools sharpened to a deadly point, trying their best to drain my body completely of its fluids.
The pain itself wasn’t intolerable. It was the fear of what might be causing it that was frightening. I was being followed all the time by this parasitic thing- this invisible shadow- and there was nothing I could do to stop it or even slow it down. It was a part of me, but at the same time I was a prisoner inside my own body.
I propped myself up against the wall and loosened the tight collar of my outer dress. I pulled the silken, blue lace from the loops at my neck and tossed it away. It fluttered to the stark, linoleum floor and laid in a pile of elegant curls. A splash of color in a dank prison. Sweat slid down the nape of my neck, causing me to moan in discomfort. I hoped that one of the RED Guards would pass by on their patrol and call me out of my room to take a shower, but it was pretty unrealistic. I could already envision the glare of the harsh hallway lights on their dour visors as they relayed the rules to me, “curfew is nearly in effect. You must remain in your room or be prepared to face the consequences.”
@Bitter sweet rose: I could not begin with the end of my story because it would screw up my entire plot. I could also not begin the story through another character’s eyes because that would be pointless. I need to begin with something similar to what I’ve written, but I was hoping that someone could help me to write it differently, and hopefully better.

I’m redoing my room with a Paris theme. Everything is going to be black and white except the colors of my walls are going to match the color of my pillows on my bed. You can help me with 5 possible things. One is giving me ideas for stuff on my walls. I have a poster of the Eiffel tower in black and white and i’m going to stencil in a quote or something in french. which brings me to the second thing. you can find me a famous saying in french or think of something cute like sweet dreams. the third thing is finding a chandelier that matches my lamp. It needs to be cheap. Lamp: http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Noble-3-light-Black-Faux-Silk-Shade-Chrome-Crystal-Table-Lamp/6002788/product.html?cid=123620
The fourth thing is finding me a color to paint my room. NOT PINK! im not that girly. and not blue because my sister already has blue and she would kill me.
The fifth thing is finding me the curtains in this link: http://www.wakeupfrankie.com/pop_zoom.php?img=SequinSusanDecTips_800×600.jpg&dir=decorating_tips&id=16&prefix=resize or anytype of awesome curtains. My parents gave me a lovely pewter bed frame from Ethan Allen. The company does not sell any other pieces since its not a part of any furniture line. I’m not an interior designer so I have no clue what would work with it. Right now the room is light green but I plan on changing that eventually. My bedspread is stripped with grey, purple, green and blue. It complements the bed well. I’m trying to go for a modern, clean yet classy look. Any suggestions for bed side tables, lamps, dressers or artwork?

I’m going to be painting my walls green. I want a few accents that will go with whatever new bedspread goes onto my bed. Would black be okay? It wouldn’t get too goth because all my bedspreads are pretty feminine, but some other things in my room have to stay a navy blue color, as in a table and lamp, and another pink lamp. If black wouldn’t look okay, what would? Thanks alot!
